The Tobacco Treatment Program at Cardiovascular Consultants of Maine is part of our commitment to being a full service cardiovascular practice. Prolonged tobacco use and poor cardiovascular health are closely linked. Tobacco use has been cited as one of the leading causes of preventable death in this country. At Cardiovascular Consultants of Maine, it is our goal to improve the cardiovascular health of our community. Toward that goal, we have instituted a Tobacco Treatment Program utilizing the current Public Health Service Clinical Practice Guidelines for Tobacco Use and Dependence. The Cardiovascular Consultants of Maine Tobacco Treatment Program is intended to improve the quality of care provided, not only to our patients, but to patients referred from our community as well.
All patients referred to the Tobacco Treatment Program are initially screened by one of our providers and then referred to a Registered Nurse who has received specialized tobacco treatment training. Patients will be followed over several outpatient visits.
Cardiovascular Consultants of Maine wants to be the premier provider for cardiovascular care in Maine. Our Tobacco Treatment Program is one more way to exceed your expectations. Your patient will be provided with one-on-one counseling, tailored to their individual needs. The referral process is easy. It is as simple as a phone call or a check-box on the Cardiovascular Consultants of Maine Clinical Testing Order Form. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you in the care of your patients.
